11. Boys & Girls Club and YMCA Pool
Since 1959, the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield (the Club) has been dedicated to providing programs and services directed to the inspiration and enablement of the young people in our community. For more than a half of century, the Club has provided a safe, supervised environment needed to help our young people realize their full potential as caring, productive, responsible citizens.
The Club is at the forefront of youth development serving at risk young people from disadvantaged economic, and familial circumstances. The Club has two locations in Garfield the main locationis the Club at 490 Midland Avenue and a second location is run in Garfield Middle School and is titled the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield at Garfield Middle School. Our service population consists primarily of multi-ethnic children in elementary school through high school grade levels. The Club provides programs and services for over 1500 children ages six (6) through eighteen (18)with an emphasis on providing impact in the areas of Academic Success, Healthy Living, Character & Citizenship.


The Aquatics facility is managed by the Garfield YMCA and holds a swim team, progressive swim lessons and is host to many swim teams throughout the area for practice and meets.
